Abstract

From the origins of the Portuguese university, the regulatory framework currently applicable and its degree of adaptation in 2005 to the European higher education system, derived from the so-called Bologna Process, is reviewed. In particular, detailed information is given of both the Autonomous University Act and its influence on the curriculums of the main Portuguese universities concerning the teaching of historical-juridical, Romanistic, philosophical-juridical, and historicalcultural disciplines.
