Abstract
The principles of the Ecclesiastico Law are those general legal principles that define the position of the State and that prompt its performance concerning the citizens’ religious life (individual and collective). The author briefly describes each of the four principles that were originally set forth by P. J. Viladrich and that other authors have followed: religious freedom (as a principle, not as a right); religious equality; secularity, and State-Confessions cooperation. The author concludes by making observations about the order and about the relations among them.
