Abstract
The article analyzes the legal provisions that make up an electoral financing system that proscribes and punishes the economic contribution of legal entities. For this purpose, the research reviews the historical origin of this financing model and its contrast with the original Law 19,884. The main result of the study has been the identification of the object of protection of the rules of conduct that prohibited the contribution of legal persons to the financing of electoral campaigns and based on that determination, the hermeneutic task of defining the meaning of the terms used by the legislator in the configuration of the crime of active and passive financing.
